As with the other parts, the head is made in multiple 3D printed sections which are Acetone welded together:
The periscope needs to fit in the head, avoiding obstacles like the main drive motor as it turns, and move up and down as well as turning. I’ve used Ninjaflex 3D printer filament as a drive belt, and a hacked servo to drive the linear rail:
The top of the periscope is turned by another servo:
I’ve used two Neopixels inside the top to light it:
