The suit is going to be lit with a lot of LEDs in green diffusers which are printed in Taulman T-Glase – this has excellent optical properties and makes a nice diffused light. I’ve printed a lot of T-Glase Orbs and bases to hold ultrabright 10mm LEDs:
The bases are fitted within the head assembly:
I’m using an Arduino Nano with a ULN2803 Darlington driver chip to handle the current to all the LEDs:
The lights are programmed to turn off in sequence like a pulsating brain – check out the video above!
The left arm of the suit has both light up section as well as a hand controller to control the suit. The idea of this is to look like the arm is severed. I’m using an Arduino Nano in a hand held device with a thumb-stick controller mounted to the top. Check out the video above for more info:
