Hands Version 2
|Iron Man Hulkbuster Suit
This page is about building V2 of the hands for my Hulkbuster, check out the main project index for the rest.
There are some YouTube videos about this section
Now I’ve made the suit wider and built out a lot of the panels, I’ve decided to replace the hands and forearms with new versions that are better sized for the overall look of the suit. These will be 3D printed frames using hybrid prints of ABS and Ninjaflex to make flexible joints:
The red parts are Ninjaflex, the black parts are ABS. There are three fingers, the middle one being wider to resemble the suit in Avergers: Age of Ultron:
The forearms are rounder and will hold various mechanics to allow the hand to hinge backwards to point the repulsor forward. The hand plate along the back of the hand and arm will slid/hinge outward to allow this:
The hands are mounted on the suit. I’ve used the cordless screwdriver motors from the first version of the hands to active the gripper:
I’ve also built some hand plates which flip back to reveal weapons – check out the video about for more info:
I’ve 3D printed finger pieces and made panels from foam floor mats and foam PVC board, just like the other parts.
Threw some paint at them:
